Since leaving the graphic design and art direction business and
pursuing painting full-time, I have found a passion for the watercolor
medium. The medium allows me to experiment with many techniques and
gives me creative freedom to express myself in new and challenging
ways. In viewing a quantity of my paintings, you will find several
approaches to my work, including representational, non-representational
and abstract.
I enjoy allowing the medium to lead me through the creative process.
The fresh, accidental effects created by charging wet paint onto wet
paper and letting it flow and blend can only be accomplished with this
medium, The challenge comes in balancing these natural attributes of the
medium with controlled techniques of brush strokes, washes, color
theory, value and composition.
My paintings currently are focused on rural and urban landscapes and
represent my experiences traveling through Europe, Mexico and the U.S.
My goals are to expand my subject matter and not limit my challenges. I
intend to continue my journey of experimentation with the medium and
allow it to lead me in new directions.
